Preservative-free Commercial Pesto

I was in Italian Centre today and browsing commercially jarred pestos, discovered only one with 100% pesto ingredients. Every other jar contained potato flakes, corn starch and/or flavourings. Almost all contained preservatives.

Bertozzi was the only clean brand available. Folks, vote with your dollars for food that doesn’t contain preservatives. Eat the food you buy rather than storing it indefinitely. It will taste better and eliminate cluttered pantries & refrigerators! Try local farmers markets or the refrigerator section for fresh pesto (where it should be kept), but still check labels & question ingredients. Local & fresh doesn’t necessarily mean preservative- or additive-free.
