Yoga at the Beverley – Class Schedule

Changes / Exceptions:

No classes on:
Easter Monday, April 22
Victoria Day, May 20
Canada Day, July 1

Beginners Yoga

  • Cancellations and illness have kept the class from starting, so the next Beginners Yoga Series will start Wednesdays at 4:00 pm starting April 24th. If you’re not yet back from your winter in the sun, let me know and I’m sure we can fit you in along the way.

Those who have already completed Beginners and anyone who wants to review, refresh, or remind themselves are always welcome.

Gentle Yoga

  • Ideal for everyone from all levels. A slower paced class focused on stability, balance, flexibility, and endurance. If you’ve been away from yoga for a while, no worries – this class will be great for you.

Yin Yoga

  • Holding a posture or shape for a minute or more allows the ligaments and tendons, and to a degree, the muscles, to lengthen and become more flexible. Most of the postures are done on the floor, well supported with bolsters (cushions), blocks, bricks, and blankets.
  • Ideal for everyone from all levels, including those rehabbing, recovering, or in search of a satisfying stretch. Those who’ve tried it already swear by it!

Class times are scheduled to avoid high-use times in the gym and exercise room. I apologize that they may not be convenient for everyone. I will continue to evaluate class attendance and determine whether times are appropriate, so the schedule may change if a certain slot is not attended.

Important Note: If you are new to Yoga at the Beverley but not new to yoga, you will still need to complete a PAR-Q health questionnaire and a Student Waiver prior to participation. Please click here to get the forms.

All yoga classes are free. Elaine is donating her time to teach owners at The Beverley. If you feel the classes are of value, please donate to Yoga Outreach, a BC non-profit that trains teachers in trauma-informed yoga to be taught to marginalized and at-risk populations. You can make a donation on the Yoga Outreach web site by clicking here.

Elaine’s training with Yoga Outreach is scheduled for September, following the completion of her Yoga Alliance 200-hour teacher training which is in progress.
